Yanet College initially conceived as Yanet Health Science college is a private higher education institution established in August/Nehase 1999 E.C in Addis Ababa Ethiopia with the aim of playing a significant role in the country’s health sector human resource development through quality education, professionalism, integrity, and community-oriented service without any kind of discrimination or distinction between students from a different social, economic, political, religious and ethnic background. Yanet college engaged in the higher education sector in advance while very few private institutions were in the business due to a lack of government attention to the private training sector. Through many struggles, ups, and downs, the college can persist in the sector by cultivating a known and acknowledged educational service.

The college started its training service after securing its legal personality and accreditation from all the regulatory bodies like FDRE Education and Training Authority and TVET agency. Its offerings at the time of establishment consisted of Nursing, Laboratory Technology, and Pharmacy at the diploma level. The first graduates of the college were 119 in number from Pharmacy technician, Laboratory technician, and Nursing department in 2002 E.C. Through the hard-working college community effort and commitment of all stakeholders, the college continues to expand horizontally by increasing its training disciplines and vertically by excelling in some disciplines and opening post-graduate programs.

Currently, the college has two campuses located in Sefere Selam, where the college was originally established, and 6 Killo around Yared Music School. The college has completed the preparation process for the newly inaugurated 6 Kilo Campus, to apply for undergraduate programs in Nursing, Pharmacy, Marketing Management, Business Management, and Postgraduate programs in Master of public health in which the accreditation process is approved.
